Login Stuck at KDM Screen

Erik,

   After futzing with this for some more time I gave up and set up my fiancee
in /etc/sudoers as having root priviledges to issue the shutdown command. I
then put 'sudo /sbin/shutdown -h now' in her ~/.bash_logout and it works just
fine.

   It's annoying that KDM quit like it did, but now we're back to doing more
important stuff.
