The question is also whether there is enough manpower to keep up
with the churn of GTK3 development and whether the cost outweighs
the benefits right now. During the last two years or so the base
Xfce components were struggling to keep up with the churn of
equally badly managed parts of the infrastructure layer
(GStreamer, ConsoleKit, upower, systemd and friends) and fixing
the fallout was mostly left to the distributions.
