button': hitting on it first would make device 'Discoverable' and

or 'Turn bluetooth on/off' toggle button. This could work too, I guess.

I see. Then the bluetooth manager  should always try to accurately
display the status of the adapter. Here it seems to me that too often
Blueman says it's on, when the hardware lights tell me it's off. I
don't know what's what. :)
