Squeeze status?

Hey,
current Squeeze is at 0.2.3 and still depends on stuff like thunar-vfs,
hal etc. which are completely deprecated.
It seems that master branch doesn't use that anymore, though I'm not
completely sure of the current status.
Is there a will to make a Squeeze release for Xfce 4.8 or will that only
happen for 4.10?
For Debian Wheezy it'd be nice if we could have a stable Squeeze using
4.8 libs only, so depending on the current master state, it'd be still
possible to have a release now and then some bugfix releases if bugs are
found, and that before we freeze (around june). Not that Squeeze
development should be driven by Debian releases, but it'd still be nice
to have a 4.8-compatible release :)
Regards,
