sure. *I* could use git snapshot. I make alpine linux and would like
encourage use of xfce4-vala so I want make it easy for others. Just
installing a package is convenient.
so i thought that i could just backport the changes from git to the
package, but guess what... patches does not apply. I assume that is due
to the way xfce-dev-tools uses a script to generate a script to generate
a script to generate another script to finally build the binary. (sorry
i'm not really a fan of autotools in first place, but i find the
configure.in.in... hum... "interesting")

I think it would be nice with a pre-release. Put the development tools
out early and make it convenient for developers. That way chances are
bigger that developers do their job and endusers gets a better product
once the final release goes out.
