These aren't problems -- you just aren't figuring out GETTEXT_PACKAGE 
properly (that is, GETTEXT_PACKAGE doesn't have to be the same as 
PACKAGE_TARNAME, or even PACKAGE).

See, this is what happens when you rewrite perfectly-working code from 
scratch ^_~.
