It makes perfectly sense to support a standard only partially if the
work needed to support 100% of the standard outweigh the benefits.

This being said, Jannis is working on a new standard menu library
(libfrap). It would make really little sense to enhance the current code
right now, as we *need* to release 4.4 and what you want/need is not
blocking in any way.

Xfce 4.6 will most likely use libfrap and provide better support for the
menu specification.
