'Empty' entries in systemtray(?)

I don't know if this is a xfce related problem but I have some problems 
with the systemtray...

Bt-applet only adds ~3px padding instead of the bluetooth icon, the 
Exaile has this padding on both sides of it's icon and nm-applet changes 
into ~3px of nothing when failing to login to a PPTP connection.

These programs are (a bit) Gnome orientated, can this be a problem?

Should I report this to the packages above or might this be xfce/systray 
related?
