'Empty' entries in systemtray(?)

Got another one: Using the "Mozilla New Mail Icon (Biff)"[1] for 
Thunderbird and selecting "Always show tray icon" shows only whitespace 
in the system tray and it crashes Thunderbird.

Can anyone confirm these behaviours?
