All fixed now. The autotools were causing the problem!
I have spec files which effectively build on 32bit systems as well as
cross platform to x86_64 now. The following files were (have been)
modified to fix the problem:
dbh.spec xfce4-panel.spec xfce-utils.spec
gtk-xfce-engine-2.spec xfce4-session.spec xfdesktop.spec
libxfce4mcs.spec xfce4-systray.spec xffm-icons.spec
libxfce4util.spec xfce4-themes.spec xffm.spec
libxfcegui4.spec xfce4-toys.spec xfprint.spec
xfcalendar.spec xfce4-trigger-launcher.spec xfwm4.spec
xfce4-iconbox.spec xfce-mcs-manager.spec xfwm4-themes.spec
xfce4-mixer.spec xfce-mcs-plugins.spec
If someone wants these to incorporate them into the existing builds let
me know.
The solution was to do the folowing in the build section:
%build
/bin/touch NEWS
/usr/bin/libtoolize --force
/usr/bin/aclocal
/usr/bin/automake
%configure
make %{?smp_mflags} LIBTOOL=/usr/bin/libtool
