Icon problem

For some reason the test for icon.theme in configure of libxfcegui4 is
always true inside portage. So now it's not getting installed if it
isn't present. If I change the configure to use builtin bashisms instead
of test it seems to work.
[ -f ${my_datadir}/blahblah ];
