If smb.conf file is not configured you get a warning that can be safely
ignored.

It should work. If you use the "goto" function and type in "//netbios"
where netbios is the name of the computer you want to browse, does it
work?

I'll probably be installing 5.1 in the next few days because of trouble
with keyboard and XFree server in 4.8, so I'll be looking more into the
matter soon.
