How can I use it or test ? I have completed steps till autogen.sh, make,
make install but the battery-plugin is not appearing in xubuntu.

If it's not appearing in the list of available panel plugins then it's
likely to be installed in a prefix different than the panel itself. Did you
pass a --prefix option to autogen.sh/configure ? It defaults to /usr/local
iirc, so if you have the panel itself installed by xubuntu the prefix to
use should be /usr. Look where other plugins are. Hint : the plugins itself
are in $prefix/lib/xfce4/panel/plugins (or panel-plugins for older plugins)
and the desktop file that the panel looks for is in
$prefix/share/xfce4/panel/plugins (or panel-plugins). Make sure both are
properly installed.
