Well, as this bugzilal states, there is nothing I can do about that.

Xfc eships with dozens of themes in a separate package, you may want
to install that package and use the theme that pleases you.

OR else you should bug your favorite distribution packager so that
(s)he sets a theme with larger borders.

But my comment about using input shape wouldn't work, so technically I
have no solution for you other than users choosing the theme they want
among those we provide...
