Control key appears as Primary when setting shortcuts

Hello.

This morning my gentoo linux ~amd64 system started to behave strangely
regarding keyboard shortcuts in Xfce.

I have some keyboard shortcuts that uses the control key. For instance
<Control><Alt>t> was assigned the "gnome-terminal" command. But when I typed
<Control><Alt>t nothing was happening.

Then I used the Keyboard Settings dialog to verify the application
shortcuts. If I try to set a shortcut involving <Control> , <Primary>
is used instead. See atached image.

Other applications (like gvim, emacs, firefox, gedit) and window
managers (like E16) accepts the <Control> key as expected. The problem
seems to be only with Xfce.

Any clues on what is going on?

Romildo
