how to start xfce4.8 desktop environment

how can i start xfce4.8 here
my xinitrc file:
  root [ ~ ]# cat .xinitrc
  startfluxbox

i need to add/change something in ~.xinitrc file: to START XFCE4.8

 shall i add below things to xinitrc to start xfce desktop environment:

  echo startxfce4 > ~/.xinitrc
  echo xfce4-session > ~/.xinitrc
