Setting "frequency" for display monitor

Xfce 4 Desktop Environment
version 4.6.1 (Xfce 4.6)

FreeBSD 7.3-PRERELEASE

I recently install a Dell SE 198 WFP monitor. Using the "nVidia"
configuration utility, the card was set up and the following was
entered into the "xorg.conf" file:

Section "Device"
    Identifier "Device0"
    Driver "nvidia"
    VendorName "NVIDIA Corporation"
    BoardName "GeForce GT 220"
EndSection

Section "Screen"

# Removed Option "metamodes" "nvidia-auto-select +0+0"
    Identifier "Screen0"
    Device "Device0"
    Monitor "Monitor0"
    DefaultDepth 24
    Option "TwinViewXineramaInfoOrder" "CRT-0"
    Option "TwinView" "0"
    Option "metamodes" "1440x900_75 +0+0; nvidia-auto-select +0+0"
    SubSection "Display"
        Depth 24
    EndSubSection
EndSection

When I enter the XFCE display settings menu, the resolution is
correctly displayed; however, the frequency is listed as "50" with "51"
as an option. When I press the monitor's button to check its settings,
it list the resolution as 1440x900, but a 60Hz rather then a 50 as
listed in the 'display' box menu.. The manufacturer states the monitor
works best at 75Hz, which is what the nVidia configuration utility
placed in the xorg.conf file.

Why am I unable to modify the settings listed by XFCE? Is there
something else I should be doing? The display does appear to be
adequate though.
