What is garcon?
===============

Garcon is an implementation of the freedesktop.org menu specification
replacing the former Xfce menu library libxfce4menu. It is based on
GLib/GIO only and aims at covering the entire specification except for
legacy menus.

Release notes for 0.1.0
=======================

This is the first development release of garcon, a new implementation of
the former Xfce menu library libxfce4menu. At its current state it
implements all parts of the spec except for a few XML attributes and
legacy menus.

It is a complete rewrite and compared to libxfce4menu its most important
feature is that it supports loading menus that were modified using menu
editors such as Alacarte.

The most important feature still missing is menu monitoring, something
that was only rudimentarily implemented in libxfce4menu but never was
fine-grained enough.
