Mail delivery problems

Hey folks,

a few of you might have noticed that mails to the mailing list are
sometimes delayed for a couple of hours. Most of them hit the archives
but from there they are delivered very ... slowly. This behaviour has
shown up in the past two days.

I just had a quick look at the header of a delayed mail:

  Received: from smtp.su.se ([127.0.0.1])
    by localhost (smtp2.su.se [127.0.0.1]) (amavisd-new, port 10024)
    with LMTP id oqDrn1woc1k9 for <info at sten-net.de>;
    Sun, 21 Jun 2009 11:53:19 +0200 (CEST)

  Received: from doppio.foo-projects.org (unknown [130.237.188.210])
by smtp.su.se (Postfix) with ESMTP id 488808D59B
    for <info at sten-net.de>; Sat, 20 Jun 2009 17:05:53 +0200 (CES

as you can see, it takes smtp.su.se about 19 hours to forward mails to
smtp2.su.se. I've seen other mails where it is the other way around.

I've reported this to Stefan from the Stockholm university and he
promised to dig around in their logs tomorrow to see what's going on.

Until then, let it be known that mails to our lists *will* arrive at the
other end(s) but it might take them some time.

Cheers,
Jannis
