Plugin(s) Xfce 4.4 To 4.4.1

I've tried to narrow down what's been causing my problem with "external" plugin(s).
I did a fresh install of a Ubuntu - dapper based distro (MEPIS-65).
Compiled Xfce 4.4 using the GUI installer.
Next I compiled Notes, Clipman, and Weather plugins.
(They loaded & configured no problem.)
Then I immediately compiled Xfce 4.4.1 using the GUI installer.
(This was done in different desktop environment)
Now none of these external plugin(s) will load, however I'm able to add the volume control / mixer.
Any suggestions as to what the problem might be or how I can get closer to cause?
For now all I can determine is that something goes wrong after the upgrade.
A "clean" install has the same problem.
