various config questions

hi list,
i've recently installed slackintosh with xfce4 on an older ibook g3. i've
been using xfce for a couple of years now and am very happy with it, but
currently, with xfce 4.4.1, i'm having a few config issues that i can't
seem to figure out how to solve. perhaps someone here can help me with
them.
* how can i prevent a program being called from another program from being
moved to the workspace the calling program is on? e.g. if i have Terminal
on ws5 and firefox on ws6, and i press the mouse button 2 on a link in
e.g. mutt running in Terminal, i want firefox to open that link but i
don't want firefox to be moved to ws5. (somehow this wasn't a problem on
xfce4.2, but i haven't been able to replicate my settings...)
* since slackware/slackintosh12 comes with hal and dbus, i have installed
the volume manager plugin for thunar. automounting works very nicely, but
i would like to pass additional mount options to (especially)
vfat-filesystems. is there a way to do this?
* also with thunar's volume manager, when i plug in a usb stick or cd, i'd
like it to be automounted, but i don't want thunar to open, nor do i want
to autorun programs or auto-open files on it. however, unsetting those
options in the volume manager's configuration has no effect. i can
uncheck the options and close the window, but when i open the
configuration window again, the options are checked again.
* lastly, is there a way for automounted media to show up in the mount
plugin (other than adding them to /etc/fstab)? previously, on slackintosh
11 with xfce 4.2, i used a debian program called usbmount to automount
usb drives, and those showed up in the mount plugin (although they
weren't in /etc/fstab), so i'm kinda surprised that the devices mounted
by thunar+volman do not.
if anyone can provide some hints on any of these points, i'd be very
grateful!
TIA
