If this is your default desktop, it looks like your distro tried to work  
around the fact that pre-RC1 didn't have "Home", "Trash", etc and then did  
not update it after upgrading to RC1. I guess you can safely delete icons  
3 and 5. I'm not sure where your real trash icon went. It's possible that  
it was built incorrectly, but I guess Brian or Benny would be correct  
people to ask about that.

Looks like your icon theme is broken. In a default setup you can change it  
 from Xfce Menu -> Settings -> User Interface Settings -> Icon Theme. I use  
'Tango' which shows correct, if kinda boring, icons for most things.

No problem. This list is fairly friendly, more so to someone who has  
obviously done his homework before posting.

You may want to file bugs in the Mandriva bug tracker -- your problems  
seem to be distro specific bugs,
