Patrick,

   If you select a window manger flavor with three buttons on the left, the
"thumbtack" button is in the center, not the left.

   I run asclock in its own little window, and it's in the upper right of each
workspace/virtual desktop. If I wanted to tail log files, I'd run them in a
virtual console that's stuck on each desktop.
