I had the same problem.  From the source directory, go to the libs 
directory, open up gridview-main.i, and delete line 218, which should 
read:
"gtk_window_set_accept_focus	(GTK_WINDOW(icon_view_p->rename),TRUE);"

Edscott has already fixed this in CVS.
