How fast is Xfce's composite manager?

Let me specify: Riva TNT2 Vanta  M64. It's cheap, slow and only be
called as "graphic card equivalent". it's posible to find such cards as
an addon to a chuwing gum ;-) geforce2 (even mx versions) are far
more better.

Ofcourse it's good enough for me to play some games like quake3 but
composite is too much and I'm not so enthusiastic about this
extension anyway.
