It worked for me here.  On terminal highlighted the
text and clicked the side button to paste next to the
command prompt (my mouse only has side button, no
middle button)

It also worked on "nano".

Ctrl+Shift+C and V for copying/pasting did not work
here.

What is Terminal (written by Xfce's own Benedikt)? 
Pleae pass me some info.  TIA
