No taskbar, no lil star iconbox

I managed to get both of them running manually.  I found a .Desktop directory but nothing in there says anything about autostart.  Yes, this is 4.0.6.  I'm using Mandrake and that appears to be the latest version i could find for it.  There is a .xfce4 directory but I can't find anything in there to autostart it with, either.
