GIMLET and XFce4?

I was just wondering if there is anyway to get GIMLET to run on the
XFce4 panel.  I know I can run it via the gnome-panel, but it often
seems a waste to have both xfce4-panel and gnome-panel running at the
same time.

If not, is any developer working on a similar applet for XFce4?  I'm
trying to learn Japanese so having it in XFce4 would be real nice.
