xfce4-session manager errors

Lately I seem to be having problems with the  session manager. When I 
log out I do not get the confirmation notice nor are any of my session 
saved. When I log in I get  an older saved session. I've tried to remove 
the entire ~/.xfce4 dir but on next log-out the session dir is never 
rebuilt.  I'm running 4.0.5, fedora core 1, and  xfce4-session-0.1.4-1 .
