xfce version 3 vs. 4 : missing features?

  Oh, really? If I click on the little square on the right of the title bar
in Xfce-4 I don't get an icon on the desktop? That's very unfortunate.

  In 3.8.18 the taskbar is rolled up at the bottom of the panel and never
unrolled. I found that it listed windows (e.g., the multiple virtual
consoles open on a single desktop) for which I have no need to access
directly. I just go to that desktop and there they all are.

  Sigh. Too many folks in the (ahem!) "high-tech" industry forget that while
all progress involves change, not all change is progress.
