the XFCE 4 panel is less tidy than in XFCE 3 ,
as the menu arrows are alongside a/a above the launcher icons.
IIRC OF's original idea was that the menus were like drawers.

cd we restore the arrows to the XFCE 3 style -- perhaps an option --
& why not -- to help with the problem described above --
make the panel icon be the 1st launch item in the corresponding menu ?
it wd avoid duplication of effort & be much easier for users to manage.
