We've got all the autoconf issues sorted out now. You don't need to run
autogen.sh anymore. Download fresh sources and run
./configure; make; make install
to build and install. This is the preferred method. In order to run
./autogen.sh you will need the correct versions of autotools installed.
The best way to automate this is to use benny and nestu's update script
which can be found on the XFce4 resource page.
