Certainly; another option for unbreakable would be using them as xterms
to a server, if you happen to have such a thing :-) For what you're
looking at, this might be a good start:

I wouldn't do the physical part like that though, might freak out some
parents :-)

I'm pretty sure you can put your XFce settings into /etc/X11 -- this is
default behavior for Mandrake's RPMs. That should take care of any
editing of configuration.
