Yes, this would obviously work, but this way the translations wouldn't
automatically reflect any differences in upstream translations between
different GTK+ versions. This lessens the worth of using stock strings.
Not a big problem, I admit, but still an annoyance.
Anyway, to reiterate: Will the upstream translations be used if I
"translate" the string "gtk-apply" as "gtk-apply" or will this string be
shown in the GUI as is? Does the substitution depend on the translation
being empty, or will copying the original string do the trick as well?
