In fact I went through all the steps you mentioned above, but I got the
error I posted here on the previous message because the file
netk-enum-types.c (which is listed in POTFILES.in) did not exist under
the directory libxfce4gui even after the 'autogen' and 'configure' steps.
What I actually found out is that this "missing" file is generated during
'make' in the project's root directory, not during 'configure' step. So:

$ ./autogen.sh # will call ./configure --enable-mantainer-mode
$ cd po && make update-po

doesn't work, but:

$ ./autogen.sh # will call ./configure --enable-mantainer-mode
$ make && cd po && make update-po

works fine. Thanks a lot for your reply!
