I would go even one step further: option not to start any screensaver when
starting xfce. This would be accomplished by adding an appropriate screensaver
launcher in Autostarted Applications dialog, in which user can disable it, if
needed; no more starting it in xinitrc script separately. Decision of which
screensaver to use would be a matter of setting in Preferred Applications
dialog.
