Yeah, you're right.  There's really little reason why the screensaver needs to
be started by xinitrc.  Moving it to autostart would probably be the best idea.
 Having a screensaver entry in a 'preferred applications' dialog sounds a bit
overkill to me.  I mean, really, how many people really care which screensaver
they're using?  And those few that do can live with using autostart. 
Unfortunately this is too late for 4.6, though.
