This is not what Thunar is meant to provide. We'll already provide 4-5
possible UI configurations. Users that prefer the "commander" interface
are better off using a file manager dedicated to this interface, like
GNOME Commander, MC, Xffm or Jens' Filer. In addition, it will be
possible to write a new "commander"-like user interface based on the
Thunar core.

In either way, it'll be a separate project.

This will be provided by D-VFS, once finished (or maybe we'll add a
Gnome-VFS based ThunarFolder/ThunarFile implementation at some time).

We had that discussion already, and the result was that it doesn't fit
with the bookmarks feature. Instead, one can write a simple panel plugin
that does exactly this, and it's even independent of the file manager in
use.
