            Bug ID: 9932
Summary: allow to select Kibibyte or Kibibit as units of
                    display
    Classification: Panel Plugins
           Product: Xfce4-netload-plugin
           Version: 1.0.0
          Hardware: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: Medium
         Component: General
          Assignee: frivoal at xfce.org
          Reporter: liv-public at myopera.com
        QA Contact: goodies-dev at xfce.org

Currently the plugin only displays network speed in Kibibytes (kilobytes).
While this is what users usually expect, sometimes other programs (e.g.
Linphone) use Kibibits (kilobits) per second as their units of measuring
download/upload speeds. It seems that the industry tends to use bits per second
to measure network speed, as is done in this website: http://www.speedtest.net/
.

I would suggest that the plugin allow the use of either measurement unit,
Kibibyte or Kibibit, both in the properties window when setting the bars'
limits and in the panel tooltip that informs the user of current
incoming/outgoing speeds.
