Notification switch grayed out on Gitlab

A workaround: you can add a smiley, which activates notifications without notifying other users, unlike messages. Removing the smiley disables notifications. It is probably best not to use +/- thumbs, so as not to distract from their original meaning of supporting or not supporting the proposal in question. I will personally use :bell:, like here: https://gitlab.xfce.org/panel-plugins/xfce4-mpc-plugin/-/issues/7
