Status of xfce4-screensaver

Hello,

Thanks for bringing this bug report to my attention. I've commented on the linked issue, but I believe this issue is resolved with the newly released xfce4-screensaver 0.1.7.
As for the standard operation, once it's installed it will start running at next startup. It runs in the background and is configured with the preferences dialog. The defaults should be sufficient for most users. If you'd like to add to the documentation, it can be found at https://docs.xfce.org/apps/screensaver/start
Finally, in regard to 4.14, the screensaver is an optional component and is not part of the Xfce 4.14 release.
