launch Thunar with 2 tabs

Hi Jerry,

closest I found was:
thunar <dir1> <dir2>

.. which will open the two directories in two separate windows. Not
exactly what you requested.

However there are already two bugs filed which both could solve your
problem:

Feel free to provide patches for them, if you want to push things a bit ;)
