Drop splash screens in 4.14?

That is true. However there have been complaints/issues about this fullscreen overlay/grab in the past (we didn't tackle those for 4.12):

So maybe we should rethink the logout dialog for 4.14, not sure.

I guess a single simple splash-screen implementation would be ok if people still use that, although I personally agree with Yves-Alexis ;)
