It would also be cool if you could just click a "Release This Module" 
button in the release-manager website and everything was completely 
automated start to finish (ex. Git tag, figuring out and updating all 
the version numbers, dist-ing of the tarballs, uploading, making release 
notes, sending announcement mails, and whatever other steps needs to be 
done).

Maybe I'm dreaming but it seems like it should be possible, and it would 
make it easier and less error-prone, especially for modules that are 
maintained by only a few ad-hoc coders, to get releases out of the door, 
more frequently.
