Because gvfs is the virtual filesystem for the gnome desktop. I am
making an xfce panel plugin (well, porting one I made for gnome). For
one because I am sick of gnome since it has been bastardised, for
another because I don't feel like limiting this panel plugin or applet
for just one desktop environment. I migrated one of my systems to xfce
after upgrading to debian 7, knowing that gnome3 sucks (for me).
I think introducing gnome dependencies in an xfce panel plugin isn't the
best idea and considering there are alternative ways of achieving what I
wanted I see even less reason why.
