Hi all,

Please note that the patch from [1] will not make it upstream in its
current state, there are some serious issues in this patch that make
it unfit for inclusion at the moment. I would not advise downstream
packagers to use it.

The idea is good, I agree the feature is neat, but I haven't had the
time to required to modify/rewrite that patch in a better way.

So discussing the improvements is a bit premature, we would need a
more satisfactory implementation first.

As usual, my goal is to keep it simple, reliable and readable, before
anything else.
