Lines wrapping in Terminal 0.4.2 (Xfce 4.6.1)

It looks a bit like a problem in your shell, I don't have that here.
shopt looks like a bash builtin, so it'd confirm you need to tune your
config, not the terminal.

If I try to run bash here, checkwinsize is already on “on”.
