I personally like the idea of using Transifex for handling the
translation workflow. As it doesn't really care what the underlying
vcs is, this would allow for less account creations and less of a
burden for whoever deals with it. Also, from the translators point of
view, the translation coordinator for a team doesn't even have to
checkout/pull source code at all (though it would probably be a good
idea to see what the final product looks like) as the web interface
would allow you to download and upload the translations, as well as
perform formatting tests before someone finally commits the work.
Also, it is easier to "expand" a team on the basis of amount of work
and trust without having to create another shell account, etc. Once
someone is considered "a veteran" he can then upload and commit his
work automatically w/o intervention.
