My standalone application description was not very good, i meant: make
the xfce-mcs-plugins standalone applications, so they don't need
mcs-channel and mcs-manager-register (only for the display, mouse,
keyboard and ui).
That probably leads to something like this:
- Standalone xsettings daemon that communicates with xfconf, like you said.
- Make the current mcs-plugins standalone and make them use xfconf.
- An xfce-settings-show that shows all .desktop files that are in the
settings category. Maybe a xfce4-appfinder --settings-only kinda mode.
Benny already posted something like that for zenwalk iirc.
