How to control the scrollbars of a gtk_tree_view

Hi,

I have a directory tree in a treestore. The rows are sorted automatically.
Is it possible to control the scrollbars of the gtktreeview? I want to scroll
the treeview so to control which data is visible when the user creates
a new directory inside the directory tree
